Sri Vishnu Sahasra Naamam

Maharshihi Kapilaachaaryaha kruthajno medhineepathihi ।
Thripadhasthridhashaadhyaksho mahaashrunggaha kruthaanthakruth ।। 57 ।।

Transliteration - Tamil

மஹர்ஷிஹி கபிலாசார்யஹ​ க்ருதக்யோ மேதிநீபதிஹி ।
த்ரிபதஸ்த்ரிதஷாத்யக்ஷோ மஹாஷ்ருங் கஹ​ க்ருதான்தக்ருத்​ ।। ௫௭ ।।

Translation

531. महर्षिः कपिलाचार्यः - Maharshihi Kapilaachaaryaha:

Kapila is called Maharshi because he was master of all the Vedas.

532. कृतज्ञः - Kruthajnaha:

Kruta means the world because it is of the nature of an effect.

533. मेदिनीपतिः - Medhineepathihi :

One who is the Lord of the earth.

534. त्रिपदः - Thripadhaha:

One having three strides.

535. त्रिदशाध्यक्षः - Thridhashaadhyakshaha :

One who is the witness of the three states of waking,dream and sleep,which spring from the influence of the Gunas.

536. महाशृङ्गः - Mahaashrungaha :

One with a great antenna.

537. कृतान्तकृत् - Kruthaanthakruthu:

One who brings about the destruction of the Krutha or the manifested condition of the universe.
