இலை - இலை போலிருக்கிற ; தலை - நுனியையுடைய ; சரம் - திருச்சரங்களை ; துரந்து - ஏவி ; இலங்கை - இலங்கையினுடைய; கட்டு - அரணை; அழித்தவன் - அழியச்செய்த இராமபிரான்;

மலை - ஸஹ்ய பர்வதத்தினுடைய; தலை - கொடுமுடியிலே ; பிறந்து - உண்டாகி; இழிந்துவந்து - கீழிறங்கிவந்து; நுந்து சந்தனம் - தள்ளப்படும் சந்தனமரங்களை;

குலைத்து - குங்குமக் கொடியைத் தள்ளி; அலைத்து - இழுத்து வந்து ; இறுத்து - ஒடித்து; எறிந்த - வெளிவிட்ட; குங்குமக் குழம்பினோடு - குங்கும ரசத்தோடு கூட ;

அலைத்தொழுகு - இழுத்துக் கொண்டு வாரா நின்றுள்ள ; காவிரி - திருக்காவேரியையுடைய ; அரங்கமேய - கோயிலிலே நித்ய வாசம் பண்ணா நின்ற; அண்ணலே - ஸ்வாமியேயாவான்;

Thirumazhisai Aazhwar Thiruchchandha Viruththam - Song 54 ( Song 805 in Prabandham ) - Meaning

That Lord Shri Rama who destroyed the highly fortified Lanka with His rain of arrows that had pointed edge like a leaf, resides ever at the sanctum sanctorum of Sri Rangam which lies in the midst of the divine Kaveri river whose flow begins from the top of the Sahya hills and flows down carrying with it the scented sandalwood logs and the Kumkuma creeper along giving the waters the scented essence of Kumkumam and Sandalwood at Srirangam.
